Great work in the first year - always interesting and hopefully starts to have a broader impact to drive other folks to ponder the public policy issues, innovations, investments, etc. needed to push all this into the 21st century.

I would sign up for either a Discord or a slack channel. I work in construction exclusively on a "neighbor" island in Hawaii and always assumed the inefficiency and resistance to innovation was related to our physical and cultural remoteness. It's fascinating to learn how similar other people's experiences and thoughts on the subject can be.

Brian, you are onto something fascinating and dare I say it, cool. As a residential real estate agent, I find your analysis of the construction industry enlightening. As a board member of a homeless shelter, I find your analysis instructive on the question "why isn't there more affordable housing available?" Thank you for educating me; I'll be around in year 2.

Congrats on one year. It's a really interesting. I'm more interested in 3d printed construction and subterranean buildings (personal interests of mine for a long time), but I'd be interested in networking in general. I don't work in construction, but I'm also an engineer (currently I work in consumer electronics).

Loving the work you're doing! Fascinating to dig into the complex dynamics under the hood, and see the parallels between construction and other multifaceted markets.

Hi Brian, congratulations on one year and thank you for several interesting articles! I would be interested in supporting a channel. Similarly, it would be awesome to connect more on this topic. I'm a Product Manager for a software company in the global construction space and have cited several of your articles in our UX research. It would be amazing to get more of your insights.

Brian, I have zero background in construction, in building anything for that matter. I stumbled across your newsletter (can't remember where I saw it) and the first one captivated me. Not sure why, maybe bc it is so foreign to my world, maybe bc I have never considered all the intricacies/coordination involved, possibly bc you write with passion about something that others do not (a niche). I look forward to my weekly construction learning experience. I have forwarded your blog to two others, again not in the space. Thank you for opening my world a little wider. Best of luck!!!!

So yesterday the print version (yes, I know...) of the NY Times Business section featured a lead article (and big full-color picture) about the future of 3d building construction. I would have read it much differently a year ago.

Definitely interested in the Slack channel. 4,000+ heads are better than 1 right? Surely we can come up with ways to move the needle

I'm enormously glad you've started this newsletter and, as someone who has nothing more than a passing interest in construction but a deep interest in systems and how people are enmeshed in them, I love your posts about how a bunch of smart outsiders universally believe the problem in system to be *here* but in reality it turns out to be in a completely different place.

I find this kind of writing to be too rare in the world and I read your posts with great interest.

Always insightful, researched, and has industry through-lines I wouldn't otherwise notice. Here's to year 2!

Regarding Slack / Discord (I lean Discord), we are professionals with Netflix subscriptions; I'd be happy to support to experiment.

Brian- your posts are always interesting and well researched. As someone in the off-site panelization design and engineering space, I really appreciate your thoughtful, clear approach to the dynamics of the industry. Please keep up the good work!

Hey Brian, I'd definitely be interested in a Discord channel. We're currently in the design phase of a ~$20M multifamily prototype. Our goal is to build at 80% cost of stabilized value. I'm reading all of your posts to get ideas and would really find value in further discussion with like-minded folks.
